Tanjore Painting is also known as Thanjavur Painting is a classical South Indian painting from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. They are defined by vivid, rich colors, simplistic iconic depiction, extensive gesso work, and decorated with precious or semi-precious stones, cut glasses, and trimmed with gold leaves. Tanjore paintings are dominated by Gods and Goddesses. They are intricately made using traditional techniques and stand out amongst other art forms due to the special and everlasting shine and a gleam of gold leaves used in the works.
